You deserve to feel safe.

I am being abused or hurt

If someone is hurting you, frightening you, threatening you or making you feel unsafe, there are people who will listen and help.

Abuse takes different forms. Sometimes it involves physical violence. Sometimes it involves threats, humiliation, sexual abuse, financial control or someone making you feel frightened.

You might be unsure whether what you are experiencing counts as abuse. You do not need to have all the answers before asking for help.

What is happening to you matters. Help is available.

Are you in immediate danger?

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 and ask for the police.

If you cannot speak during a 999 call from a mobile, listen to the operator and press 55 when prompted. Pressing 55 alone does not tell the police your location.

If you are unsure what to do next

You do not need to make a formal police report before seeking support.

If you feel safe doing so, speak to someone you trust, such as a friend, teacher, GP or support worker.

If someone monitors your phone or internet use, consider seeking help from a device they cannot access. Closing a page or using a quick-exit button does not erase browsing history.
