Our Story

Jacob's Bagels started in 2020 with one simple craving: a proper fresh bagel.

After searching far and wide and finding very few places making bagels from scratch, we decided to learn how to do it ourselves. What began with sharing bagels with friends, family and neighbours slowly became a small local business built around craft, flavour and persistence.

Our bagels are made using proper bagel making methods: shaped by hand, boiled, then baked for the chew that make a bagel feel like a bagel.

From a bakery idea to a Worthing shop

Over time, Jacob's Bagels has changed shape. We have baked for different customers, run bagel-making experience days, sold bagels online and tried a bit of everything that small food businesses often have to try.

Right now, our focus is much simpler: our Worthing shop.

You will find us at 9 Bath Place, serving fresh bagels, filled bagels, coffee, pretzels, cakes and seasonal specials. We are a small local shop, not a chain, and that is exactly how we want it to feel.

Small, local and still handmade

We still care about the same things we cared about at the start: good ingredients, proper methods, friendly service and bagels that are worth coming back for.

The business has changed over the years, but the aim has stayed the same: make proper bagels and do it well.
