I don't feel safe at home
Home should be somewhere you can feel safe. But sometimes the people or circumstances around you can make home feel frightening, unpredictable or difficult to live in.
You might be frightened of a partner, parent, relative, carer or someone else you live with.
There may be shouting, threats, violence, intimidation, controlling behaviour or neglect.
Or you might not be able to explain exactly why you feel unsafe.
Your safety matters. You deserve to be heard and taken seriously.
Jacob's House can help you find established UK organisations that understand these situations and can offer specialist support.
Are you in immediate danger?
If you or somebody else is in immediate danger, call the emergency services and ask for the police.
999If you cannot speak: When calling 999 from a mobile, listen to the operator and respond if you can, even by coughing or tapping. If prompted, press 55 to be transferred to the police.
Pressing 55 does not automatically tell the police your location. Follow the operator's instructions wherever possible.

If you think someone is checking your phone, messages, browsing history or location, consider using a device they cannot access when looking for help.
This could be a trusted person's phone or a computer in a safe public place.
Be aware that private browsing does not necessarily prevent someone from monitoring your device or internet activity.
A specialist support organisation can help you think about safer ways to communicate and plan your next steps.
What if you are not ready to leave home?
You can ask for advice even if you are unsure what you want to do next.
You do not need to make an immediate decision about leaving a relationship or your home in order to speak to a support service.
If you are thinking about leaving an unsafe situation, consider speaking to a specialist service first about how to do so safely.
Leaving or confronting someone who is abusive can sometimes increase risk.
